Join us for Shabbat Services: Friday at 6:00 pm, Saturday at 9:30 am
An egalitarian Conservative congregation serving the diverse Orange County Jewish Community

The goal of our Youth Department is to create the Jewish leaders of tomorrow by teaching our children and teenagers the values of our heritage and providing a safe place to grow surrounded by experienced and loving staff.

Each week USYers gather for lounge night. We rotate each week from an online gathering on zoom, to in person lounge nights in the Youth Lounge at CBI. The first Friday of each month we have Shabbat Club, an in person teen-led service followed by dinner at a host home with a fun program to enhance the Shabbat experience. Saturday nights are great when USYers get together for a social night of fun.

For a full and updated calendar of events go to www.cbiusy.com and join the Remind texting program by texting @CBIUS to 81010.

Our goal during this trying time is simple: keep Jewish youth connected with each other and with Judaism.

USY provides our teens with a foundation for life through Judaism and friendships.

United Synagogue Youth, or USY, is an international organization of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. USY provides a local place for teens in grades 7-12 to get together in a safe supervised Jewish environment. We provide leadership opportunities, social action opportunities, religious experiences and Israel awareness. Our chapter hosts a monthly Shabbat dinner and speaker on the first Friday of every month as well as social events throughout the month. We also provide the option for our members to participate at the regional level, which includes weekend retreats, dances, leadership roles, and an annual convention. On the international level there are summer trips in the USA as well as Israel, a convention, leadership roles and specialized interest groups. Most USYers stay active in Jewish life through college and as adults because it has become so much a part of who they are.

The CBI chapter is the 3rd largest in the far west region, which consists of 40 chapters covering 6 states. We have several chapter members on our regional board and over the years have had regional cabinet members as well.
