Congregation B’nai Israel offers many ways to observe Shabbat on Saturday mornings, whether traditional services in our Main Sanctuary, educational and fun services for teens and young children/families, alternative meditative and musical services, or Torah and text study. Please join us!
Shabbat Morning Services
Join us in the Main Sanctuary starting at 9:30 am every Shabbat morning for traditional prayers and a triennial Torah reading. The Saturday morning service at Congregation B’nai Israel is distinctive for grassroots participation. Each year over 180 different people read Torah and many participate in leading prayers. At the same time, Rabbi Spitz is actively involved, creating an engaged, uplifting service. A community Kiddush lunch follows services.
On select Saturdays:
Junior Congregation was created especially for children 2nd through 5th grade and takes place 10:30 – 11:45 am the 3rd Shabbat of every month in the Family Life Center. Everyone has a role in making this musical, interactive service come to life! Spirited guitar and beautiful melodies enrich the prayer experience not only for kids, but for parents as well. A great preparation for b’nai mitzvah. Bring your classmates and friends – the more the merrier. And there’s always a sweet treat at the end!
