An egalitarian Conservative congregation serving the diverse Orange County Jewish Community

Samantha Brown

Sam Brown joined the Congregation as the Executive Director in April of 2023. Prior, she was the Senior Director of Programs at Lost Tribe, an online Jewish, non-profit, youth-serving organization. For more than 25 years, Sam has worked with the Jewish community in various roles, including marketing, development, programming, and engagement, always furthering connectivity between children, families, and organizations.

Sam has moved extensively throughout her life and has always found a way to build Jewish relationships and experiences wherever she goes. Prior to joining Lost Tribe, she worked for Capital Camps & Retreat Center, in Rockville, MD, where she managed plans, projects, and events for marketing, development, and governance. She has continued to be part of their summer staff team and it has remained her children’s summer home. A native New Yorker, Sam’s love of camp runs very deep; she attended Camp Che-na-wah in the Adirondacks for thirteen summers.

Before Capital Camps, Sam helped scale Growing Jewish Families. A community engagement initiative of the Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia, marketing, event planning, and programming outside the JCC walls, extending the organization’s reach to regional Jewish families.

Sam has been a member of our synagogue since 2020, when she moved to Mission Viejo with her husband, Michael, and three daughters, Kennedy, Frankie, and Ivy.
