An egalitarian Conservative congregation serving the diverse Orange County Jewish Community

All of us, regardless of age or wealth, have the ability to make a difference for future Jewish generations.

Our Endowment Fund was created to help protect the long term financial viability of our congregation, with the goal of generating a permanent income source that Congregation B’nai Israel can rely on to meet current and future needs for generations to come. Whether given currently, over time, or as a bequest upon one’s death, endowed support of CBI ensures a lasting legacy and an enduring impact.

Endowment gifts are invested by CBI at the Jewish Community Foundation of Orange County with oversight by our Endowment Investment Committee to ensure maximum return. It is the goal of the Endowment to maintain, and when possible, grow, the total asset value of the Endowment over time.

In 2016, Congregation B’nai Israel established a Legacy Circle to honor those who have donated or pledged a gift to our Endowment Fund, and we became a partner with the Jewish Community Foundation of Orange County’s Create A Jewish Legacy (CJL) program. CJL is an initiative led by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation and the Jewish Community Foundation of Orange County to make legacy giving part of the culture of Orange County. Our goal for this program is to build a strong Congregation B’nai Israel now and in the future, allowing us to continue to be a meaningful center of spiritual and religious life for Jews living in the area for years to come.

There are many ways you can support the CBI Endowment, including in-lifetime giving, through your estate plan, as a beneficiary of an IRA or life insurance, by leaving property to CBI, or establishing a gift annuity. If you have already provided for CBI in your estate plan and are not listed below, please let us know so we can acknowledge you and include you. For more information on how you can make a difference, please contact the CBI office.

Thank you our Legacy Circle Members:
