This year we recognize four outstanding leaders for their commitment to our community. We will be honoring Michelle Madick, Mindy Lauerlevin, Marla Nathan and Robin Steinmetz for their significant philanthropic contributions in Orange County.

As CBI VP of Social Action over 15 years ago, Michelle Madick helped to launch Sunday Supper, an innovative interfaith program dedicated to providing meals to the homeless in our local community, and she has continued to lead it and ensure its success. The program now has nearly 200 CBI volunteers and CBI has served over 22,000 meals since inception, including through COVID. In addition to her dedication to Sunday Supper, Michelle has been instrumental in maintaining CBI's Cooking for Comfort, Mitzvah Day and other CBI philanthropic endeavors.

Mindy Lauerlevin has co-managed Sunday Supper with Michelle for the past 7 years and helped introduce the Urban Voices program to Orange County. She has also mentored families through the Orangewood Foundation, served on multiple committees with the Jewish Community Foundation of Orange County, and volunteered with Second Harvest Food Bank and local beach cleanups.

Marla Nathan has been organizing blood drives at CBI in partnership with the Red Cross for 36 years which has contributed over 2,000 units of blood, saving over 6,000 lives. She has also been the liaison with Family Promise, which addresses family homelessness through prevention, short-term housing, supportive services and stabilization.

Robin Steinmetz conceived, co-developed and led Knowledge for College (K4C), an educational program to prepare Jewish highschoolers for college from 2016-2020 and has re-envisioned and relaunched it in partnership with the ADL and Jewish Federation of Orange County via the Youth Leadership Initiative. She has secured over $65,000 in grant funding over six years to deliver programming for students and parents throughout Orange County, organized a speaker series with leading organizations and created interactive dialogue regarding antisemitism, BDS, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Robin has served on the Orange County/Long Beach ADL board since 2018 and currently serves as the OC Hillel Board Chair. The widespread impact of these four members is a true example of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world, and are an inspiration to the community.

Please join us Sunday, March 15, 2026 in honoring them by being a sponsor.
