Policies and Standards

New Students
In order to place students in the proper grade and academic level, each new student is to be interviewed by the Director of Education before joining a class.

Attendance
Attendance is essential to the learning process. A student who misses classes not only misses the material covered, but also a sense of community and a full background for understanding the material. We recognize that occasionally students do have other commitments and teachers will be happy to provide work for students to take home. Students are responsible for all missed work. Students who do not complete all the assignments or miss more than 25 percent of school days will not be promoted to the next grade.

Delivery, Pick-Up and Parking
In order for all classes to begin on time, please try to arrive a few minutes ahead of scheduled class time.

Students should be dropped off and picked up in the front of the synagogue, which faces Park Center.

For your child's protection and safety please be aware that there is no teacher supervision before 4:00 PM on weekdays and 8:50 AM on Sundays. We request that you park your car in the parking lot and escort your child to and from the school. At no time will you be allowed to block traffic or park illegally when your child is coming to or from school.

We would like to provide the best education we can for every child in our school, but we need your help. If your child has academic, social, environmental or physical learning disabilities, please make an appointment with the Director of Education, Mrs. Vidor, to discuss it confidentially. It is to our children's advantage that we are made aware, as early as possible, so that teachers can try to adjust classroom work and expectations accordingly, and to the best of our abilities.

Communication
A successful partnership is built upon open communication. The staff at CBI Religious School is committed to keeping parents informed and involved in the education of their children.

Parents are encouraged to communicate any request, question or problem to their child's teacher first. If you need more help, then please involve the Director of Education and, if necessary, an Education V.P.
