Lunch and Learn with Rabbi Spitz

Introduction to Judaism
This class is ideal for anyone looking to embrace the Jewish faith and for those wanting to reinforce and expand on what they know. Term is October through May, meetings are Sunday afternoons. Taught by Rabbi Elie Spitz, Rabbi Robin (Hoffman) Foonberg and our Rabbinic Intern in partnership with the Miller Introduction to Judaism Program at American Jewish University. Hebrew for Adults
Classes are taught by Rabbi Robin (Hoffman) Foonberg Tuesday evenings in the Family Life Center. Beginners 6:45 – 7:30 pm, Advanced Beginners 7:30 – 8:15 pm. Contact the CBI office for more information, session dates and costs.
Parashat Hashavuah Text Study
Study the week’s Torah portion every Saturday before services, from 8:30 – 9:20 am in the Social Hall. Each week a different lay leader prepares and leads the discussion. Everyone is invited to attend.
How to Read Hebrew Scripture with a Modern Lens with Ahuva Ho
Every Shabbat after Kiddush lunch with the congregation, Ahuva Ho brings discussion and insight through text study. Saturdays 1:15 – 2:15 pm in the Bet Midrash. Everyone is invited to attend.
Torah In Its Own Voice: A Verse by Verse Exploration with Rabbi
Text based Torah study Tuesdays from noon – 1:30 pm in the Family Life Center. Rabbi Robin (Hoffman) Foonberg leads us on a journey into the Torah, verse by verse, getting inside the text to explore its wisdom, stories and lessons. We welcome everyone who wants to learn – beginners and those who continue to study Torah. Prepare to be engaged!
Davening Workshop with our Rabbinic Intern
Wondering how our prayers can vault us into relationship with the Divine? Wondering when we stand, sit, bow and why? Take a deeper look into the siddur, the prayers, and the overall flow of the service. Class is held in the Bet Midrash on selected Saturday mornings at 10:30 am. Check our Calendar for dates.
